Anderson County Prairie Preserve
The Nature Conservancy acquired this 1,450-acre preserve near Garnett, Kansas, in 1996 and turned management over to the Kansas Biological Survey in 2006. The goal for the preserve is to maintain and enhance native biodiversity within an imperiled tallgrass prairie ecosystem. The preserve is off U.S. Highway 59 near Welda, Kansas. Access is limited; please contact Dean Kettle, 785-864-1540 or firstname.lastname@example.org, if your group is interested in visiting this prairie preserve.
